[Biology] MSc/PhD/Postdoc (Jackson Lab, USA)
分类信息 - Studentship & Fellowship
Research positions of all levels (postdoctoral fellows, graduate students,
or technicians) are immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Chengkai
Dai at the JACKSON LABORATORY, which is a world-renowned mammalian genetics
research institute and an National Cancer Institute-designed Cancer Center
located in scenic Bar Harbor, Maine and adjacent to the famed Acadia
National Park (http://www.jax.org). The JACKSON LABORATORY offers a unique scientific research opportunity characterized by excellent collaboration among our staff, unparalleled mouse and genomic resources, outstanding scientific support services, highly successful postdoctoral and predoctoral training programs, and a major meeting center featuring courses and conferences. The Laboratory offers employees an excellent benefits package.
Dr Dai’s laboratory conducts research on human cancer and ageing with a
special interest in understanding the roles of the heat-shock response, one
of the most ancient and evolutionarily conserved cytoprotective mechanisms,
in these two important pathophysiological processes (Cell. 2007 Sep 21;130(6
):1005-18). The laboratory’s research topics involve protein-protein
interactions, signal transduction, transcriptional regulation, translational
control, apoptosis, autophagy, and in vivo mouse modeling. We employ a
broad range of integrated modern techniques in molecular biology (e.g.
cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, western blotting, and qRT-PCR), in
biochemistry (e.g. Co-immunoprecipitation, protein posttranslational
modifications, and EMSA), in cellular biology (e.g. tissue culture,
transfection, fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, viral transduction,
and RNA interference), in high-throughput functional genomics (e.g. DNA and
microRNA microarray, CGH array, ChIP sequencing, and RNAi screening), and in
cutting-edge mouse genetics (e.g. transgenic, knock-out, and knock-in mouse
models of human diseases).
Highly motivated candidates with strong interests in biomedical research are
encouraged to apply. Previous research experience and strong laboratory
skills would be highly desired. Postdoctoral positions require a Ph.D. and/
or M.D. degree and a record of publications in peer-reviewed, scientific
journals.
Interested candidates should send letter to Chengkai.Dai@jax.org and include:
1. Brief statement of your research interests
2. CV with bibliography and previous research experience, if applicable
3. Contact information of 3 references
